This year, Greater Sydney Landcare is celebrating the incredible impact of our corporate partners who came together to restore local bushland, protect waterways, and build a more sustainable Sydney.
Through our corporate engagement program in 2025, 442 volunteers from a range of organisations worked alongside Landcare coordinators and community groups at 22 sites across Greater Sydney. Together, they made an outstanding contribution to our local environment:
- Over 2,000 hours of labour providing hands-on environmental restoration work.
- Over 500 cubic metres of weeds removed across 5,000 square metres of land—including lantana, privet, and balloon vine.
- 10,962 native plants established to restore habitat and improve biodiversity.
- Over 1,000 kilograms of litter removed during clean-ups to protect wildlife and reduce pollution in local waterways.
Each group also participated in educational workshops with Streamwatch, Mulgoa Valley Landcare, and iNaturalist, inspiring volunteers to monitor their surroundings and contribute to critical citizen science programs.
Growing and Evolving the Program
In 2025, our corporate engagement program continued to grow — introducing new sites, partnerships, and experiences for volunteers across Greater Sydney. We launched clean-up activities with Clean4Shore, giving corporate teams the opportunity to directly improve waterway health and reduce marine debris. To further support Clean4shore please see our donations page.
New educational workshops, such as our iNaturalist Nature Safari and Pollinator Workshop, offered volunteers a deeper understanding of local biodiversity and the importance of small actions in supporting ecosystem resilience.
On-Ground Highlights
Highlights for our team included Microsoft’s ongoing commitment across Western Sydney, with significant progress made at McCoy Park, where teams successfully weeded and revegetated key areas. We also had an outstanding spring season in Mulgoa, with multiple companies assisting in lantana removal to strengthen potential koala habitat.
These hands-on volunteering days not only create visible environmental outcomes but also strengthen teams, foster environmental awareness, and connect people to the places they live and work.
Thank You to Our Supporters
A huge thank you to all the businesses and volunteers who partnered with us this year—especially those who returned from previous years to continue supporting our cause. Your energy, teamwork, and care for Country are helping to grow a greener, healthier, and more resilient Greater Sydney.
We would not have been able to make these contributions without the assistance and support of our local networks and landholders. A special thank you to Clean4Shore, Mulgoa Valley Landcare, Parramatta Council, Willoughby Council, Penrith City Council, Hunters Hill Council, Canterbury-Bankstown Council, Bayside Council, Blacktown Council and Schoenstatt Mulgoa.
Organisations interested in partnering on a corporate volunteering event or supporting on-ground restoration projects in 2026 are encouraged to contact us to discuss meaningful collaboration opportunities.
