Urgent Appeal: Help Clean4Shore Get Students Back on the Water!
Tonnes and tonnes of rubbish end up in Greater Sydney’s waterways every year, and require urgent attention.
Clean4Shore has a proven track record — in 2024 they led 99 field trips, removed 40 tonnes of rubbish from waterways, and engaged over 900 volunteers—many of them students.
But this year, without immediate funding, at least 8 school groups will miss out.
The grant that previously supported these educational clean-up trips has ended. Greater Sydney Landcare is partnering with Clean4Shore to call for funding. Clean4Shore now urgently needs community and corporate support to keep this vital work going.
$3,000 helps support: One trip funded. One school empowered. One waterway cleaner.
Your donation will help:
✅ Fund a waterway cleanup field trip for a high school group
✅ Provide transport, safety gear, waste disposal and coordination
✅ Give young people hands-on education in environmental protection
These aren’t just excursions. They’re life-changing experiences with a real world impact for students who develop teamwork, confidence, and environmental awareness by doing muddy, meaningful work.
Graham Johnston, Clean4Shore CEO said: “Without new funding, we simply can’t run these trips. Some of the schools we’ve supported for years are currently on hold. We’re asking for your help so we don’t have to say no.”
Donate now — before Clean4Shore has to turn schools away.
This is your chance to make a tangible, immediate difference:
-
Keep students on the water
-
Keep removing rubbish from our rivers
-
Keep Clean4Shore afloat
Please donate now.
No donation is too small — but a full trip sponsorship of $3,000 makes a direct and measurable impact.
Please act now. The rivers – and the next generation – are counting on us.
