Building partnerships is at the heart of everything we do in Greater Sydney Landcare. Across the many projects we run — both directly and in collaboration — we work alongside other Landcare and Bushcare groups, networks, local councils, NSW Government departments, environmental organisations, schools, universities, and corporations seeking to contribute to environmental restoration.
It’s through these partnerships that we can create a more sustainable and significant impact. Working together also helps us discover new and better ways to address environmental challenges and engage a wider audience.
Our Young Person Engagement project Wildventure, is all about finding creative ways for young people to learn and apply their knowledge — from tree planting and bush regeneration at music festivals, to activities like kayaking or growing events such as KoalaFest (coming up in September). The Hawkesbury Nepean Landcare Network and Cattai Hills Environment Network also recently created and delivered a highly successful Schools Wetland Challenge. Meanwhile, the Parramatta River Catchment Group is gearing up to host Riverfest in September.
Our Corporate Engagement team is exploring ways to create dynamic learning and delivery experiences for corporate volunteers, bringing together our various offerings such as Creating Canopies, Streamwatch, Koala conservation, Platypus conservation, river cleanups and more.
