Greater Sydney Landcare is looking for a passionate and practical individual to join our team as an Environmental Field Officer.

As part of our mission to connect and support communities and nature in Greater Sydney, we’re planting 300,000 native trees between 2020 and 2025 through our Creating Canopies project, in partnership with Landcare NSW. We also run a busy corporate volunteering program and deliver a range of natural resource management services.

This casual role involves hands-on environmental work across multiple projects including site preparation, tree planting, weed control, maintenance, and supervising corporate and community volunteers. It’s a great opportunity to gain experience in revegetation practices, monitoring, and reporting—while making a tangible impact on Sydney’s urban ecosystems.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have experience in bush regeneration, landscaping, or working with volunteers
  • Be confident using brush cutters, augers, and other small machinery
  • Be passionate about the environment and ready to work outdoors
  • Hold a White Card, driver’s licence, and Working with Children Check

Additional qualifications such as AQF3 chemical accreditation or a Cert III in Conservation and Ecosystem Management are highly regarded.

Job details:

  • Location: Castle Hill and sites across Greater Sydney
  • Pay: $40/hour
  • Hours: Approx. 1 day/week with potential for more
